Experience the pinnacle of OLED home cinema with the LG OLED77C56LB.AEK 77" OLED evo 4K Smart TV in Black – a premium television that combines LG's renowned OLED evo technology with a magnificent 77-inch screen. As part of LG's C5 series, this OLED TV delivers stunning picture quality with perfect blacks, infinite contrast, intelligent a7 AI processing, and the intuitive webOS smart platform, making it the ideal choice for UK homeowners seeking exceptional home cinema performance on a grand scale.
The 77-inch OLED evo panel delivers perfect black levels and infinite contrast that only self-emissive OLED technology can provide. Each of the millions of pixels emits its own light, turning off completely to achieve absolute black. The evo designation means enhanced brightness over standard OLED – making HDR content pop with brilliant highlights while maintaining perfect shadow detail. On a 77-inch screen, this contrast and depth create an extraordinarily immersive viewing experience.
The 77-inch screen size is perfect for spacious UK living rooms or dedicated media rooms – large enough for truly immersive movie nights, Premier League football, and gaming, yet proportionate for most larger living spaces. The screen size creates a cinematic experience that transforms your living room into a private home cinema, while the slim bezel design maintains a clean, modern aesthetic.
The a7 AI Processor (Gen7 or latest equivalent) powers the intelligent features. The processor uses deep learning algorithms to analyse and optimise picture and sound in real time. It recognises content types – movies, sports, news, games – and adjusts settings automatically. AI upscaling enhances lower-resolution content to near-4K quality, making streaming and broadcast TV look remarkably sharp on the large 77-inch screen.
4K Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160) delivers four times the detail of Full HD, while OLED's pixel-level control ensures every detail is rendered with precision. The combination of 4K resolution and perfect contrast creates images with remarkable depth and realism on this grand scale.
Brightness Booster technology increases light output compared to standard OLED, improving visibility in brighter rooms while maintaining perfect black levels. This makes the C5 series more versatile for UK living rooms that aren't always completely dark.
HDR support includes Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG. Dolby Vision optimises scene-by-scene metadata for the most accurate HDR presentation possible on streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV+. HLG is particularly important for UK viewers, as it's the HDR standard used by BBC iPlayer and Sky Q for live broadcasts.
The 120Hz native refresh rate delivers smooth, fluid motion for fast-moving content. Sports action is crisp, panning shots are judder-free, and motion blur is minimised. OLED response time is virtually instantaneous – no ghosting or smearing, making this TV excellent for both movies and gaming on a grand scale.
For gamers, the C5 series offers impressive features. 4K at 120Hz support (via HDMI 2.1), AMD FreeSync Premium, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) deliver tear-free, stutter-free gameplay. The Game Optimiser dashboard brings all game settings into one place, with genre-specific presets (FPS, RPG, RTS). Input lag is low, making this OLED a top choice for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC gaming – and the 77-inch screen provides unmatched immersion.
webOS smart platform (LG's intuitive operating system) provides access to all major UK streaming services: BBC iPlayer, ITVX, All 4, My5, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, YouTube, and more. The Magic Remote (included) offers point-and-click, voice control, and wheel scrolling for effortless navigation. The interface is responsive and easy to customise.
AI Sound Pro analyses the audio signal and upmixes standard content to virtual 5.1.2 surround sound using the TV's built-in speakers. While a dedicated soundbar is strongly recommended for a screen of this calibre, the TV's audio is respectable for built-in speakers.
Voice assistants include LG ThinQ AI, with support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa via the Magic Remote or compatible smart speakers.
Energy efficiency is a benefit of OLED technology. OLED panels consume less power than comparably sized LED TVs when displaying typical mixed content, as pixels displaying black turn off completely. The a7 processor also optimises power usage based on content.
From a practical standpoint, the 77-inch screen requires substantial wall space or a very large media unit. Professional installation is strongly recommended due to the size and weight. The slim bezel design with a black finish is sleek and modern. The television can be wall-mounted (VESA compatible) or placed on the included stand.
Connectivity includes 4 x HDMI (with 2 or 4 ports supporting HDMI 2.1 features depending on the C56LB variant), 2 x USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and optical audio out. The eARC port allows lossless Dolby Atmos audio to pass to a compatible soundbar for immersive surround sound.
For UK homeowners seeking the perfect blacks and infinite contrast of OLED in a magnificent 77-inch screen, with intelligent processing and smart features, the LG OLED77C56LB.AEK 77" OLED evo 4K Smart TV in Black delivers outstanding home cinema performance.
